Purpose of Chain Sprockets
Chain sprockets are toothed wheels that mesh with a roller chain to transmit rotational motion and power from one shaft to another. Their main purpose is to move drive reliably over distance: because the chain links engage the sprocket teeth instead of relying on friction, the two shafts keep a fixed relationship, so timing and speed stay consistent even under load. Changing the number of teeth on the driving and driven sprockets sets the speed and torque delivered to the output shaft, which is why sprockets are used in conveyors, agricultural machinery, motorcycles and industrial drives.
Advantages
Improve efficiency
Precise tooth profile and consistent pitch keep power transfer smooth, so drives run with less wear and fewer unplanned stoppages.
Strong durability
Heat-treated teeth resist wear under continuous load, keeping engagement accurate through long service intervals and reducing replacement frequency.
Easy to use
Standard bore and keyway fit straight onto common shafts, so replacements drop in without machining or special tools.
Materials of Steel Garden Shed
Overview A steel garden shed is a layered structure: a square tube frame carries the load, galvanised colour steel sheet forms the walls and roof, and aluminium alloy handles the detail work. Each material is chosen for a different job, which is why the finished unit stays rigid in high wind without adding unnecessary weight.
Square Tube Frame Square tube forms the posts, base rails and roof beams that carry the roof load and keep the shed square as it is built. A closed square section is stiff in every direction, so the structure resists twisting rather than flexing, and the door openings hold their alignment season after season.
Galvanised Colour Steel Sheet Galvanised colour steel sheet forms the wall and roof panels. The zinc layer protects the base steel against rust, and the colour coating on top blocks UV while giving the shed its finish - thin enough to handle during assembly, yet stiff once bolted to the frame.
Aluminium Alloy Aluminium alloy is used where the shed needs light weight, precise profiles and corrosion resistance - [door frame / edge trim / ridge cap]. It will not rust, it extrudes to shapes steel cannot easily match, and where it meets steel an insulating layer prevents contact corrosion between the two metals.
Available surface treatment processes
Polishing
Grinding is the most common process in sprocket surface treatment, which can remove burrs on the sprocket surface and improve its surface finish and flatness.
Passivation
Grinding is the most common process in sprocket surface treatment, which can remove burrs on the sprocket surface and improve its surface finish and flatness.
Spray painting
Grinding is the most common process in sprocket surface treatment, which can remove burrs on the sprocket surface and improve its surface finish and flatness.
Coating

FAQ
Q1. How many bikes fit, and what bike sizes does it take?
With an external footprint of 2320 × 843 × 1302 mm, the shed takes a full-size adult bike up to about 1.8 m long and 1.1 m high at the handlebars, and the 1302 mm high shell clears standard frames with both wheels on the ground. How many you can park depends on your layout
Q2. Is it secure enough to leave my bike in overnight?
The doors close over the steel frame and take your own padlock, so the shell cannot be shouldered or levered apart the way a resin or timber store can. For longer-term storage we recommend bolting the shed down and adding a ground anchor inside, so the bike is locked to the ground rather than only to the shed.
Q3. What base does it need, and will it stay up in strong wind?
It needs a firm, level surface - concrete, paving slabs or a timber deck - with the base rails fixed down, because a long, narrow unit presents a large flat face to the wind. On exposed or coastal sites, add screw-in ground anchors as well, since an empty shed of this weight can lift in a strong gust.
Q4. How long does assembly take?
Two people can build it in around 3 hours from the pre-drilled, numbered panels and the illustrated instructions, using a screwdriver, a drill and a step ladder. Prepare and level the base first and check it with a spirit level - the panels only line up correctly when the ground underneath is flat.
